2:15 TALE OF TALES Enrichment Lecture Rob Caskie (History)
Today’s Topic: “Shackleton” ~ Scott’s great rival and destined for very different greatness.
Rob captivated us with his storytelling about the Shackleton Expedition to cross the Antarctic that failed. It is one of the greatest survival tales of all time. All 28 men were rescued and survived.
Rob’s talk ‘Going South with Scott & Shackleton’ fulfilled his lifelong passion for Antarctica. His achievements were recognized with the honor of being invited to speak at the Royal Geographic Society in London, Hong Kong, and Singapore to full houses, and being inducted into the Professional Speakers Hall of Fame in 2019.
3:15 Briefing for Shore Activities in South Georgia with Steffan Danino Our Expedition Leader Steffan graduated in Earth Sciences from Oxford University and completed a Masters’s degree in Polar Studies at the Scott Polar Research Institute, University of Cambridge.
Steffan joined Silversea Expeditions in 2016.
